Avery Marsh Foot Pole Attachment, Push Pole

I must admit, when I first saw this item I was completely confused. A quick Google search revealed what this Avery Marsh Foot Attachment is used for. This tool would be attached to a long pole and used in swamp areas to push your boat along. Since I do not hunt and I am not from an area known for swamps and marshes, it makes since that I had never seen a marsh foot. The one shown was in new condition, the spring was light but plenty enough to keep the attachment spread open.
