September 1967, Playboy Magazine with Centerfold Intact
Sold on 12/27/23 for $12.99
I purchased a good sized lot of old Playboy magazines from an estate sale. In the bunch, was this September 1967 Playboy Magazine. This Magazine had some light wear on the cover, but considering it was 56 years old, it was in very good condition. The cover, the binding, and most importantly the centerfold, were all still intact.
For nostalgia purposed only, I flipped through a few of these old mags. I’ve rarely ever sat and looked at a PLAYBOY magazine, probably out of fear of my mother walking in. I was surprised at how many pages were in these older PLAYBOY magazines. To be honest, there were far more articles and advertisements than anything that I would consider risque.
It was kind of cool to read about college players from the 60s that went on to have meaning NFL careers. It was also crazy to see just how obsessed men were with straight-legged, wrinkle-free jeans in the 60s. I found myself wanting to hang on to a few of these old magazines as collectibles. But in the end, I decided to flip them and make room for more inventory.
